Peak Flow Diary

Printing a diary, prints a form which you can use to write down readings and symptoms. For more information on how a diary differs from a report, please see the Report vs Diary help topic.

To print a diary click on the Open print wizard… task.

• Print Wizard Page 1 … select the Print a diary month option and then click on the Next > button.
• Print Wizard Page 2 … configure the diary options, and then click on the Next > button. See below for more information.
• Print Wizard Page 3 … preview the document and then click on the Print button to close the wizard and print the diary.

Diary Options – customizing the diary

The Diary Options control what is printed in the diary. The Diary Options are displayed on the 2nd page of the Print Wizard.

Diary Options – Diary display name

This is the name that is printed at the top of each page. It defaults to your username, but can be changed if you wish. For example if you have used your first name as your username, you can enter your full name here and your full name will be printed on the diary.

Diary Options – Diary Settings

A diary is printed for a single month. Each day can have space to write down between 1 to 4 readings.

• Month and Year … enter the month and year for the diary.
• Readings per day … enter the number of readings that you take per day. Commonly this is set to 2 for an AM reading and a PM reading.
• Best Peak Flow … enter your best peak flow. This is used to pre-calculate your green, yellow and red zones.

Diary Options – Notes Settings

The diary can optionally contain an extra section containing any text you wish to enter. Common uses for this is information such as a medication list, doctor contact information, etc … however you can enter whatever you like. The notes you enter are saved so that the next time you print a diary or a report you do not need to re-enter the information.

To edit the notes click on the Edit Notes button.

Preview the document

The last page of the Print Wizard is a preview of the printed document.

• Click on the Print button to print the diary and close the wizard.
• Click on the Cancel button to close the wizard without printing the diary.
• Click on the Page Setup button to change the margins and orientation of your paper.

Notes

• A page size of A4,Letter or larger is required. If the page size is too small, Peak Flow will warn you the diary may not print correctly. Try decreasing the margins in the Page Setup, or use a larger paper size (like A4 or Letter).
