Support Forum Topic: Error when entering events

Hi Steve,
I am new to your program and I really love it so far.

Since I am currently going through several drug test regimes I wanted to annotate my chart as you described in the Feb-21 post (btw the average before and after feature is really great). I can easily enter events and they show nicely on the bottom of the chart. However, when I wait for about 30 seconds or move the cursor over the event to check what it was, the following error appears and forces me to exit (since it always comes back):

The error message is: Invalid access to memory location. Reading 0×3F1DDA60, IP 0×3F1DDA60 (C:\Program Files\My-BP\My-BP.exe)

I have sent the error protocol to the tech team for analysis.
Can you help?
Heiri Gugger

    Hi Heiri,

What version of Windows are you using?

I recently came across a similar problem on a Windows XP system that was using “16-bit color”. Changing the color quality setting to “Highest (32 bit)” solved the problem.

If you are using Windows XP, you can check this setting and change it by right-clicking on an empty part of your Windows Desktop and then clicking on “Properties”. This will open the “Display Properties” dialog box. Click on the “Settings” tab, and then change (if needed) the “Color quality” setting to “Highest (32 bit)”.

Let me know what you find.

    Hello Steve,

thanks for the prompt and accurate answer… yes, the 16bit setting seems to be the issue (on my XP machine) – got it to work without the error popping up.

While this is good news in itself, it doesn’t quite solve my problem yet, since my HDTV Monitor goes dark in the 32bit mode and I struggled for quite some time to bring it back to life in my two screen setup (Dell Monitor and Samsung HDTV as the master).

Is there a patch you will develop for this issue?

    Kind regards

    Hi Heiri,

Apologies for the problem and thanks for confirming this bug on 16bit color systems.

Is there a patch you will develop for this issue?

Yes, give me a couple of days and I will contact you with a patch.

    Hi Heiri,

I have uploaded a new beta build of My Blood Pressure to:

To install it, you can follow the “Upgrade” instructions on the following webpage (just substitute the above download file):

The new build should fix the problem with event icons and the Window’s 16bit/medium color quality setting. It has been a quick fix so it has not been tested comprehensively. If you run into any problems, please let me know.

Thanks for letting me know about this problem!
