Seeing is believing … Heart attack animation

I came across this amazing animation on YouTube by Nucleus Animation. If you’re the type of person that likes to see things in order to understand them, this video is a must watch.

I think for a lot of people, blood pressure numbers and cholesterol numbers etc., are just numbers that you, and or your doctor, worry about.

This video animation brings blood pressure and cholesterol, and the effects they have, to life.

I think it makes blood pressure and cholesterol more meaningful, and personally I found it very compelling viewing.

If you, or someone you know, is procrastinating about getting their blood pressure down or improving their cholesterol, this video is well worth watching. The animation effects make it fun and interesting to watch, but the message is deadly serious!

The video

“Heart Attack” by Nucleus Animation. (Sorry for the “Sample Use Only” watermark. That seems to be the way they upload their videos to youtube.)

After watching that, I’m going to take Kellie’s advice and eat less salt, eat more vegetables, start eating beetroot, and sleep more etc. etc. etc.   8-O

I do not want that happening to me!

Kellie’s two cents:

Reducing your risk of a heart attack is quite simple. You have no doubt heard it all before. You need to make sure your blood pressure is good, your cholesterol levels are good, you lose weight if you need to, you eat healthy, you do bit of exercise each day, and you stop smoking if you are a smoker. I know it’s easy to say, but harder to do! :) I covered those issues in the news item I did about healthy living a few months back.

If you want more information on heart attacks, I would recommend the NHLBI heart attack website. It has good information on recognizing a heart attack and the warning signs. It also shows you what to do if you suspect you have had a heart attack and how to reduce your risk.

OK, that was a little scary to watch. :) That video may just be scary enough for someone to change their lifestyle.

I think this is a good one to pass on to friends and family who are at risk of a heart attack.

Fascinating video. Thank-you for showing it! I agree it is nice to “see” these things.

If I watched that video every day I don’t think I would be tempted to eat fatty food ever again !!!!!

Thanks KHogen and Helen! I agree that a picture (or video) says a thousand words.
