I was diagnosed as a type 2 diabetic when I had a heart attack in 1992. In 2006 with some dietary changes and more exercsie I was able to reverse my diabetes so that I no longer need insulin injections and have been able to reduce my overall medication load. Studying the remaining ones Amiodarone, Warfarin, Digoxin and valsartan I find that warfarin increase deposits of calcium on the arterial wall partially because it is a vitamin k antagonist. Over time as the calcium builds up the arteries narrow which presumeably will increase blood pressure. Also the Amiodarone after 16 years use at 100mg has caused my thyroid to become under active  which slows the metabolic rate increasing weight. Trying to find an alternative solution to these problems. Comments appreciated.  I have created a link to this site from which provides more details

    Hi raftartan,

Congratulations on reversing your diabetes with lifestyle changes! Worth all the hard work. Smiley

Unfortunately, it seems by taking medication for one medical condition, it has created another medical condition for you. How frustrating.

Your personal story, ‘Diabetes Reversed’ is a great read. Thanks for the link and sharing your story. It’s good to know that it is possible to reverse diabetes through lifestyle changes.

    Wishing you good health! Kellie
