Would like to make a couple of suggestions for any upcoming versions of My Blood Glucose.
Although the notes section is a good thing, is there any way you could add specific fields for entering medications, food consumed (such as carb. count or type of food), and maybe a 1 thru 10 dropdown field for stress levels?

As you probably know, medication changes, stress levels, and certain foods (which varies from person to person) can have radical effects on a persons blood glucose. Having these new fields added could help to spot any trends that are effecting a users blood glucose readings, and help them to adapt to improve their overall control.

    Hi Grant,

Firstly my apologies for the delay in posting your message. It seems to have got caught up in the server move that we have been doing.

You can track things like this using the existing categories and events system. The advantage of using categories (for things that change day to day eg stress levels) and events (for things that change over a period of time eg starting/stopping medication) is that the program can then use that information in a number of ways.

Firstly it will automatically calculate and compare averages based on the categories and/or events. You can see these averages by clicking on the “Study Readings…” task. Secondly, you can use the “Display Filter” (in the top right of the window) to view charts of only the readings that match certain categories and events (or combinations). Lastly, you could use the custom charts feature to overlay readings in one category vs another.

One limitation is that you can not use these systems to record a number (for example you can’t record the day’s calories as 1875), but you can convert the number into a “rank” and record that (for example “Medium Calories, or Calories 1800to2000). By doing this, it then makes it easy to compare different categories using the tools described above.

    Hi Steve,
Many thanks for your helpful comments. Your software is excellent. I have recently tested some other Blood Glucose software and I can say without fear of contradiction that your’s is by far and away the most superior. Both as to ease of use and its flexibility and completeness of reporting. There is one enhancement that you might consider and that is the user’s ability to enter and track over time (graph) the results of HbA1c tests.
