Using a home monitor

I am often asked how to take a blood pressure reading accurately with a home monitor. Good question!

I often refer to the American Heart Association website, which has detailed information on taking reliable and accurate readings with a home monitor.

The American Heart Association now has a great video that step by step explains how to use a monitor properly. It includes tips for consistent and accurate readings.

Even if you have been using your monitor for years, there will be something new to learn in this short video. Of course when they suggest to write down the readings with pen and paper, just think ‘enter readings into My Blood Pressure’ instead. :)
