A number of people have written into support after seeing the labels for the average chart displaying the last reading and wondering if this is a bug. For example:
> ‘Show Charts’ task where average readings are shown graphically
> the final reading on systolic, diastolic and pulse are flagged
> as average readings in the final column. They are NOT. They are
> the current readings. Is this intentional?
I think you will find that the final column labels can show the last reading, but not necessarily.
This can happen if there is only one reading in the final averaging period. For example, if the chart’s end date is set to the last day of the month, all the readings in that month will be averaged. However, if the chart’s end date is set to the first day of the month, only readings from that day will be averaged. If there is only one reading entered for that day, it will appear that the final reading is labeled.
I think the best way to see this in action is to change the averaging period to a smaller period (say “One Week”) and then use the Up and Down Arrow keys to move the chart back and forward in time. You will be able to see the averaging period build up and change.
Hope this helps! Steve
